Hello, I’m Catie
I have been looking after other people’s animals across Liverpool for over sixteen years. I still do it on my own.
That is the part people ask about most, so I will start there.
Why it is just me
I have never taken staff on and I do not intend to.
It means I know every animal on my books. I know which cat hides and which one shouts at the door. I know which dog pulls on the left. I know what your rabbit normally looks like, so I notice when it does not.
It also means there is never a stranger letting themselves into your house. The person who comes to your consultation is the person who comes to every single visit, for as long as you use me.
The trade-off is honest: I have a limit. When my week is full, it is full, and I will tell you rather than squeezing you in and doing a worse job of everybody’s visits. Holidays and Christmas book up early.

What I do
Cat sitting is the biggest part of my week, and dog walking is close behind. Beyond that I do overnight house sitting, day care in your own home, medication and insulin visits, puppy visits, elderly dog care, and pop-in visits for rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, birds, fish and reptiles.
Everything happens in the animal’s own home. I do not board pets, I do not run a day care centre, and I do not have a van full of dogs.
What I do not do, and why
- I do not board dogs or cats. I used to, and I stopped. I get asked most weeks and the answer is still no: boarding is a different business with different demands and I would rather do one thing well.
- I do not run a pet taxi. I get a lot of requests. I have never had the capacity to do them properly, and a half-done pet taxi is worse than none.
- I do not promise solo walks as standard any more. I would rather be straight about that than have somebody find out on day one.
The bit of the job that actually matters
Anybody can walk a dog for half an hour.
What people are really paying for is somebody who notices. A cat drinking more than last week. A dog stiffer on the stairs than it was on Monday. A rabbit that has not touched its hay. Those are the things that turn into vet bills, or worse, if nobody is watching.
Seeing the same animals regularly, on my own, is what makes that possible. It is the reason I have customers I have looked after for nine years, and cats I have known longer than their vets have.
