Dog walking
Dog walking in Liverpool
Hour-long walks, fitted around your working day, in the places your dog already knows.
I am Catie. I have been walking dogs across Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton and St Helens for over sixteen years, on my own. The person at your consultation is the person holding the lead every time.

What a walk actually involves
Before we start
I come to your house first, meet your dog, and watch how they are with me. I want to know about the lead, the recall, the other dogs, the things that set them off and the things they love. I would rather find out on a sofa than halfway down a canal path.
The walk
Where your dog already goes, unless there is a reason to change it. Dogs have routes. They know the lampposts, the corners, the field where the good smells are, and a familiar route is a calmer walk than a new one.
Every walk is a full hour. I do not do half-hour walks: by the time a dog has got going, half an hour is over. An hour is a proper walk for most dogs on a working day, and it is what bigger dogs, younger dogs, and dogs who are climbing the walls by lunchtime actually need.
I walk Monday to Saturday. Saturday mornings are priced a little higher, and Sunday walks are by special request only, at double the weekday rate.
Coming home
Paws and belly wiped down if it has been wet. Fresh water put down. A quick look round to check nothing is amiss. Then I lock up properly and text you.
What you get
A message after every walk so you know it has happened, and a photo when your dog has done something worth seeing.

The doggy day excursion
Some dogs do not want a walk. They want a day out.
The excursion runs 8am to 2pm and is built for dogs with energy that an hour will not touch. It suits working owners who are gone from early until late and would rather their dog had one proper day than two rushed ones.
£35 a day. Numbers are limited because it takes up my morning, so book ahead.
Dogs I walk
Dogs whose owners work
The largest part of what I do. A lunchtime walk breaks up a long day and takes the guilt out of a full diary.
Older dogs
Shorter, slower, and at their pace. Company matters more than distance by that stage. I also do elderly dog care visits for dogs who no longer want a walk at all.
Puppies
Not full walks until they are ready. Puppy visits are short and frequent, which is what a young dog actually needs.
Dogs on medication
I give tablets and injections during a visit if that is what your dog needs. See medication visits.
What people say
We first booked Catie when we moved to a new area. Although initially concerned as our miniature schnauzer adored her old dog walker, Catie put us at ease almost immediately. Mable is quick out of the door with Catie and she is always punctual, friendly and communicative. She is a consistent and vital part of our dogs routine, and we are incredibly grateful for her! Would 100% recommend.
When I became pregnant with my twins last year I didn't know how I would be able to walk my 2 yo lab x (after I'd got to a certain size as I couldn't even get to the end of the road!) , I contacted Catie and the rest is history. She takes Nala out 3 times a week come rain or shine and has not once ever let me/us down. Nala loves going on her walks with Catie and the other dogs and since Catie has been walking her, Nala has massively improved on her lead work . Catie is a lovely person and I know when Nala goes out with her she is in great hands, I would fully recommend her to anybody that needed their pets walking/sitting 👌❤ x
Catie is the best thing to ever happen to my dogs we have used her twice a week for 3 years and have never been disappointed she turns up in all weather. Catie goes above and beyond would highly recommend
Questions about dog walking
Will my dog be walked on its own?
Not always. I no longer offer solo walking as standard. Tell me about your dog at the consultation and I will tell you honestly what I can and cannot do with them.
Do you walk at weekends?
Saturday mornings, yes, from £16 an hour. Sunday walks are by special request only and charged at double.
Do you charge more for a second dog?
Yes. A second dog from the same home is from £6 extra per walk, and they go out together.
How many walks a week can I book?
Anything from one to five. Most of my regulars are two or three days a week, at the same times, so the dog learns the rhythm.
What happens in bad weather?
The walk happens. Liverpool would be a difficult place to run a fair-weather dog walking service. If it is genuinely dangerous — ice, a storm warning — I will shorten it and spend the time with your dog indoors instead, and I will tell you.
Do you walk reactive dogs?
Sometimes, and it depends entirely on the dog. Be honest with me at the consultation. I would far rather turn a booking down than take on a dog I cannot handle safely.
How do you get in?
I collect a key at your free consultation, at no charge. Keys carry no name and no address.
Which areas do you cover?
