What changes the price

How many pets. A visit covers up to two cats. Above that it is £3 per extra cat per visit.

Medication. A diabetic insulin injection visit is £17 per visit, all in. Any other medication is £5 per visit, not per animal: two pets medicated in the same visit is one £5.

Weekends. Saturday morning walks are from £16 an hour. Sunday walks are by special request only and charged at double the weekday rate.

A second dog. From £6 extra per walk for a second dog from the same home.

Bank holidays. Everything is charged at double: walks, visits, day care, overnight sitting and keys.

Hours. Day care is £22 an hour between 9am and 7pm. Outside those hours it is 50% more.

What the stay involves. Overnight sits between £70 and £100. Two settled cats sits at the bottom. A house with several animals, medication and an early start sits nearer the top.

How much do dog walkers charge in Liverpool?

Most dog walkers in Liverpool charge between £14 and £20 for an hour. My walks are always an hour and start at £12.50 on a weekday, or £16 on a Saturday morning. Prices vary with travel distance, how many dogs are walked together, and whether the walker is insured and DBS checked — which not all of them are.

How much does a cat sitter cost?

Home cat sitting in the UK is usually priced per visit rather than per day, typically between £10 and £20 depending on the length of visit and the number of cats. Mine start at £12.50 for thirty minutes and £17.50 for an hour, covering up to two cats, with £3 for each extra cat. Medication adds £5 a visit.

How much is a dog walker for one hour?

An hour’s dog walking in the UK generally costs between £14 and £20. I charge from £12.50 an hour on weekdays and from £16 on a Saturday. Every walk I do is a full hour: it suits larger dogs, younger dogs, and dogs whose owners are out for a full working day, and it is enough for most dogs as a midday break.

What customers say about the price

We have used this service several times and have been very pleased. Catie is very professional, caring, and her prices are very reasonable. I feel comfortable and at ease when I travel, knowing that my cats are being taken care of. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a pet sitter.

Hilary CurrinGoogle review

Catie took care of my fifteen year old cat Darby over Christmas and New Year. I have never left him with a pet sitter before so I was really worried about him. Catie was great, she took great care of him and sent me pictures and updates so that I could see that he was ok. Her prices are reasonable and well worth the peace of mind. I will not hesitate to use her service again.

How do I pay?

Cash or bank transfer, whichever suits you. For overnight bookings I take the first night at the consultation to hold the dates, and the rest is settled at the start of the stay.

Questions about prices

Do you charge for travel?

Not within the areas I cover. If you are right on the edge of my patch I will tell you at the consultation rather than adding something later.

Do you charge more for a second dog?

For walks, yes: a second dog from the same home is from £6 extra per walk, and they go out together. For visits, the extra-animal rule applies from the third cat.

Is there a minimum booking?

No. One visit is fine, though most people settle into a weekly pattern.

What happens if I cancel?

It depends on how much notice you give. With more than 14 days’ notice (more than 28 days for a first booking, or over Christmas, New Year and other peak periods) anything you have paid comes back in full. The full tables are on this page under Cancellation policy.

Do prices go up?

They are reviewed once a year. Existing customers hear from me before anything changes.
