Overnight sitting

Overnight pet sitting in your own home

For pets who should not be left alone at night, and houses that should not look empty.

I stay in your home overnight. Your pets get their evening routine, their night, and their morning, in the place they live, with somebody in the house the whole time.

What overnight sitting covers

I arrive in the evening and stay through until the morning. Between those two points, everything carries on as it normally would.

  • Evening feed and last toilet break
  • Medication, evening and morning, including insulin
  • Somebody in the house all night
  • Morning feed, morning walk or morning garden
  • Litter trays, water, tidying up after your pets
  • Post brought in, curtains and lights used normally, bins out if the day falls while you are away

I use my own food and drink. I only use appliances in your house with your permission, agreed in advance.

When overnight is the right choice

Dogs who cannot be left overnight

A dog that howls, chews or soils through the night is not being naughty. It is distressed. An overnight sitter removes the cause rather than managing the symptom.

Pets on twice-daily medication

Insulin in particular needs a proper twelve-hour gap. Two visits a day can work, but an overnight stay makes it straightforward.

Multi-pet households

Dogs and cats and a rabbit is three sets of routines. One overnight stay covers all of them without anybody going anywhere.

Houses that should look lived in

Lights that go on and off, curtains that move, post that disappears from the mat, bins that go out. It is not why people book it, but it is worth having.

What I do not do

I do not board pets at my house. Overnight sitting happens in your home, never in mine. I no longer offer dog boarding of any kind, and I never boarded cats.

What people say

Sunndays have taken care of my flat cats whenever I've gone away. For 9 years! Always friendly and as accommodating as possible. Understands pets personalities as one of mine is very timed. Never had issues or concerns. Always very friendly in messages but mostly takes great care of your babies and sends photos if your fretting. Once when I was in France there was a weather storm and they (in tier own time and money, which I obviously paid back) went out of their way to get Feliway diffusers to help calm the kitties and it made such a difference to my trip. Amazing … highly recommend 😻😻😻

5 stars is not enough for how amazing Catie was with our dog Oscar. We needed support for Oscar with insulin injections twice daily while on holiday and Catie was able to support with this. Amazing communication prior to our holiday which also put my mind at ease while away. Thanks again Catie I will definitely be in touch again soon xx

Questions about overnight sitting

Are you there the whole time?

Overnight, yes. During the day I have other visits, so we agree in advance which hours I am in the house and which I am not. Everything is written down before you go.

Do you need a spare room?

Somewhere to sleep, yes. A spare bed or a sofa is fine. I bring my own bedding if you would rather.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as you can for school holidays, Christmas and Easter. I am one person and the nights go quickly.

What if my pet needs a vet overnight?

I contact you first, then take them to your vet. I take your vet’s details and written permission at the consultation so nothing is delayed.

Is this cheaper than a cattery or kennels?

For one pet, often similar. For several, usually much less, because you are paying for the night rather than per animal. See cat sitting compared with a cattery.

Which areas do you cover?

Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton and St Helens. Full list of postcodes.

I cover Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton and St Helens. Not the Wirral. Full list of postcodes.
