Booking

How do I book?

Text me on 07828 876660. Texts get the fastest reply. We arrange a free consultation, I come to meet you and your pet, and we agree the routine from there.

Is the consultation really free?

Yes. No charge, no obligation, and no key charge if you hand keys over on the day. You are welcome to meet me and then decide against it.

How far in advance should I book?

For regular weekday walks or visits, a week or two. For holidays, school holidays and Christmas, as early as you can — I am one person and the dates go.

Do you have a contact form?

No, deliberately. A form on my old website was silently failing and I lost enquiries because of it. Text, call, message me on Facebook, or email me instead.

What happens at the consultation?

I come to your home, meet your pet, and go through everything — food, routine, medication, where they hide, what they are like with strangers, your vet’s details, and what you want me to do if something is wrong. You ask me anything you like. It takes about half an hour.

What I do and do not do

Do you offer dog boarding?

No. I do not board dogs or cats, at my house or anywhere else, and I no longer offer home boarding for small animals either. I look after animals in their own homes only. I am asked this most weeks, so it is worth being clear.

Do you do a pet taxi service?

No. I get a lot of requests and I do not have the capacity to do them properly, so I would rather not do them at all.

Will my dog be walked on its own?

Not always. I no longer offer solo walking as standard. Tell me about your dog at the consultation and I will be honest about what I can do with them.

Do you have staff?

No. It is only me, and that is on purpose. It means the person you meet is the person who turns up, and I know every animal I look after.

What animals do you look after?

Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, rats, mice, ferrets, birds, fish and reptiles. If yours is not on that list, ask.

Keys and access

How do you get into my house?

With a key you give me. I collect it at the free consultation, at no charge.

Are my keys safe?

They carry no name and no address — just a code only I can match to you. They are kept securely and returned when you stop using me.

What if I forget to leave a key?

Key collection is £10, or double on a bank holiday. You can also drop it at my address at a time we agree, at no charge.

Can I use a key safe instead?

Yes. Give me the code at the consultation and tell me if it changes.

While you are away

Will I hear from you?

Yes, after every visit. A message, and a photo when there is one worth sending.

What if my pet is unwell?

I contact you straight away and take them to your vet if they need it. I take your vet’s details and written permission at the consultation, so nothing waits.

What if I am delayed coming home?

Text me. If I have the time I will keep going. If I cannot, I will tell you immediately rather than leaving you to find out.

Will you do anything around the house?

The basics — post brought in, curtains, a light on and off, bins out if the day falls while you are away. It makes the house look lived in.

Prices and payment

How much does it cost?

Visits start at £12.50, dog walks at £12.50 an hour, and overnight house sitting from £70 a night. Everything is listed on the prices page.

Do you charge more on bank holidays?

Yes. Everything is charged at double on a bank holiday: walks, visits, day care, overnight sitting and keys. See prices.

Do you walk dogs at weekends?

Saturday mornings, yes, from £16 an hour. Sunday walks are by special request only and charged at double.

How do I pay you?

Cash or bank transfer.

Medication and health

Do you give medication?

Yes — tablets, liquid, eye and ear drops, and injections including insulin for cats and dogs. Insulin injection visits are £17 per visit; any other medication is £5 per visit on top of the visit.

Are you insured?

Fully insured with Cliverton, who specialise in pet care businesses.

Are you DBS checked?

Yes.

What qualifications do you have?

Certificates in Animal Health Care and Dog Care, which include Animal First Aid.

Areas and hours

Which areas do you cover?

Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton and St Helens. Not the Wirral. Full list of postcodes.

What are your hours?

Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm.

Can you visit outside those hours?

Yes, by arrangement. Late cat visits and medication rounds outside normal hours are common — just ask.
